Library Director Search Information
The Algona Public Library seeks a well organized, energetic, and innovative leader to manage the operations of the Library. This is a full time position with benefits. The Library Director reports to a 9-member Board of Trustees and serves as chief executive officer of the library and manages the facility, a staff of 10 people (7 FTE), the library finances, and all aspects of operations. The City of Algona, population 5,500, is the county seat of Kossuth County. There is a potential library renovation project in the future.
Qualifications: Bachelorís degree required; Master of Library Science degree from ALA accredited institution preferred. Minimum two years of library experience required; some supervision experience preferred.
Compensation: Salary will be dependent upon education and experience. Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, paid vacation/sick/holiday/bereavement/jury leave and the cityís contribution to the Iowa Public Employees Retirement System.
