Britt Public Library Mission Statement
 

The Britt Public Library exists to provide informational and recreational services with the aid of technology and current materials in an attractive and welcome setting, changing to meet our population needs and the requirements of the community and surrounding area. The Britt Public Library will serve the public and insure all people the freedom to read and to choose freely from all sources of information and knowledge.

Declaration of Services
 

To provide the following services the Britt Public Library is open 48 hours a week. Monday 10:00-6:00, Tuesday through Thursday 10:00-8:00, Friday 10:00-5:00, and Saturday 9:00-12:00.
 

Circulation Policy
 

Loan period:
Books, audio books, music CDs, computer games & programs, puppets and puzzles are loaned for two weeks. Magazines and select reference material are loaned for one week.  DVDs are loaned for 2 days. Select reference material is loaned for 1 day. All items may be renewed except for DVDs. Renewals may be requested in person, by telephone or by email. Items that are on reserve for another patron may not be renewed.

Fines:
Borrowers are responsible for all materials checked out to their card and are responsible for their timely return. A five cent daily fine accrues on all materials other than videos, DVDs and computer programs on which a fifty cent daily fine accrues. Fines may accrue to full replacement value, but not beyond. Replacement charges are calculated for all lost and damaged items on an individual basis. Borrowers lose all privileges when overdue fines amount to ten dollars or more.

Reserves:
All materials except DVDs may be reserved. Reserved material may be requested by telephone or at the desk. Reserved items must be checked out within two days.
