Eleanor Sheffield's father is dead, and her uncle has sunk into premature dotage, leaving her in charge of the family business of evaluating and procuring antiquities for wealthy clients. The will of one customer, Lord Lydney, contains a directive. Eleanor, as temporary trustee, must decide whether Lydney's son, Harry, deserves to inherit the priceless family collection. If not, she can donate it to the South Kensington museum, resulting in her receiving lucrative future commissions. There is a complication. Harry and Eleanor have a romantic history, and all is not what it seems with the Lydney family, the collection, and Sheffield Brothers. Byrd's (Lady in Disguise , 2017) latest Victorian-era inspirational romance features an unwaveringly honest, self-sufficient heroine. The Christian elements are seamlessly incorporated, and the arc of the protagonists' relationship will satisfy fans of the genre. There is just enough tension to prolong the expected happily-ever-after in this gentle novel that focuses on separating the real and valuable from the fake and unworthy when it comes to individuals as well as antiquities.--Bethany Latham Copyright 2018 Booklist
