*Starred Review* Trust Vogue. Those two words will enable any knitter, novice or pro, to refresh, renew, and learn new stitches and techniques. For this reference, substantially revised since the 1989 first edition and subsequent updates, the editors thoroughly re-vetted directions and explanations, with significant differences. For instance, a tip now may cover how to improve cast-ons, and a technique description may address neatening the last loop. Chapters are color-coded for ease of use. New, especially, is a chapter on constructing and designing accessories, such as balaclavas, chullos, mittens, gloves, and socks. What's most impressive is the number offered of possible variations on a technique or stitch: 25 methods of casting on, 14 for binding off, and various choices of finishing and seaming.
