The Vernon Parish Library Board met in regular session, Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 3:30 p.m.

Members present were: Mrs. Bealer, Mr. Kuk, and Mrs. Westerchil. Absent were Mr. Jones, Mr. Martin, and  Mr. Davis.

Mrs. Bealer led in opening prayer.

Mr. Coy presented the statistical, financial and Director’s report.

Under new business, Mr. Kuk made the motion, seconded by Mrs. Bealer, to increase the line item in the budget to include the amount for the replacement of the air conditioners for the Mobile Branch, which is approximately $1500.00. Carried.

Mrs. Bealer made the motion, seconded by Mr. Kuk, to give the new employees hired this year an 8% pay increase, minus the usual $300.00 a year given, retroactively back to January, 2022.
Carried.

The Board discussed and decided to recommend to the Police Jury the appointment of Mrs. Vera June David to replace Mrs. Gaye McKee, who resigned for personal reasons. Mr. Coy will verify that she resides in Vernon Parish and will agree to serve, as well as send out a ballot to absent board members before sending a letter to the Police Jury with our recommendation.

There being no other business, meeting was adjourned.
