Traveling Storytime

Local preschools and daycares invited to participate in our Traveling Story Time program!  Traveling Story Time brings story time to your school or daycare.  No need to load up the kids!  We bring the story time to you!

Traveling Story Times will be scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:15am, 10:00am, 10:45am, and 11:30am September through December.  A storyteller will visit your school or daycare once a month.  You can expect the Story Time to last approximately thirty minutes.  If you are interested, please complete the online request form.  Traveling Story Times will be scheduled on a first-come first-serve basis.  Registration will be accepted on an ongoing basis pending availability. 

You are eligible to participate in the Traveling Story Time program if:
        Your school or daycare is located within five miles of Hays Public Library.

        A minimum of five children will be attending the Story Time.

        Teachers or care providers must participate in the Story Time.

All three criteria must be met to be eligible.

K-5 School Programs

Did you know Hays Public Library offers Traveling Programs?  A library employee will visit your K-5 classroom to provide a FREE 30-minute program with no extra planning for you!  These programs are not limited to books.  They may involve hands-on learning, experiments, games, crafts, and activities.  Choose from our pre-planned topics, such as: Great American Cleanup, Spring, Native Americans, Reindeer, Penguins, Cold Weather Animals, Space, the Constitution, or Grandparents. 
Covering a different topic in your class?  We are creating new programs all the time!  Tell us your topic and we will create a program!  You can even provide a state standard that you would like the program to meet.
