About the Library

Mission Statement:

The Burt Public Library serves as a learning and social center for the residents of the community.  Our mission is to make available books and services to encourage the pursuit of knowledge, the excitement of learning, and the enjoyment of leisure time. Each patron will have access to information, materials, and technology in a variety of forms.

The Library also provides these services:

  •         All types of books for children and adults, including audio books
  •         Newspapers, magazines, puzzles, dvd's, computers with internet access, open access and interlibrary loan services
  •         Photo copying, sending and receiving fax, laminating
  •         Children's play area
  •         Early Learning materials and technology

We have many ongoing and rotating programs and continue to add more:

  •         Story Time
  •         Summer Reading Program
  •         Book Club
  •         Chess Club
  •         Future Library Leaders of America
  •         Early School Dismissal activities

Fees for Services:

  •         Prints and copies are $0.20 per page
  •         Fax Fees - $1.00 to send if long distance charges are incurred, otherwise free
  •         Fax Fees - $0.20 per sheet to print
  •         Lamination - $1.00 per sheet

Circulation of Materials:

  •         Books............One month
  •         Dvds..............Three days  (limit of 4)
  •         Magazines.....One week

Library's On-going Fundraisers:

  •         Can Cage is located behind the library building.  
  •         Ink Cartridge Recycling can be dropped off at the library.
