Online Resources and Databases

LearningExpress Library is an interactive online learning platform featuring over 770 practice tests, tutorials, and eBooks related to job search and workplace skills improvement, career certification and licensing exam preparation, college entrance and graduate school admissions exam preparation, GED exam preparation, and basic skills improvement in reading, writing, and math, for all ages. You'll get immediate scoring, complete answer explanations, and an individualized analysis of your results.
This service is available to Fort Dodge Public Library cardholders.

To access:

First Time Users
  • Click the link above to get to the LearningExpress Library mainpage
  • Click the Register button under the New Users section at the bottom of the page
  • Your username will be your library card number (No spaces or letters, if applicable)
  • Create a password, verify your password and then click the Register button. Your password must be a minimum of 6 characters long and should not include spaces.
Once signed in, you may choose one of the Learning Centers on the left to access the LearningExpress Library Resources.

Returning Users

  • Click the link above
  • Enter your username (library card number, no spaces or letters, if applicable) and password on the Returning User Login section at the bottom of the page
  • Click the Login button

Freegal is a downloadable music service now available to Fort Dodge Public Library cardholders.  Freegal gives you access to the Sony Music Entertainment catalog which offers hundreds of thousands of songs, over 100 genres of music and more than 50 record labels.  There is no software to download and you can access your account from any computer. Library users have a weekly download limit of 3 songs, this song count is reset every Monday.  The downloads on this site are in MP3 format with no digital rights managment issues to deal with.  This service will work with any MP3 player, including iPod, can be loaded into iTunes and will work with both PCs and Macs. 

To access Freegal go to Enter your entire Fort Dodge Public Library card number.  Your pin is the last four digits of your library card.  (Do not enter the A or B if applicable.)

The Global Road Warrior database features more than 8 million words of editorial content, over 6,500 color photos and 1,575 maps, all presented in a consistent 92-category framework for each country.  Topics include society and culture, travel essentials, business culture, communications and more.  Created by an international team of researchers, cartographers and writers, the database is continually updated.

Iowa AEA Online - http://www.iowaaeaonline.orgIowa Area Education Agencies provide Iowa AEA Online, consisting of eight dynamic online resources, to all Iowa accredited schools. Students and staff have access at school and at home (Internet access required), 24 hours a day, seven days a week! These online resources support the content standards for school curriculum and student learning by bringing a wealth of information to teachers and students wherever they may be, with just the click of a mouse.

You can register for this service at home or using any computer with internet access.

OneClickdigital brings the library to you with its searchable database of over 3000 titles.  You can easily search the site by title, author, genre, even by narrator.  Once downloaded the audiobook can be played either on your computer or any portable mp3 player that supports wma (Windows Media Audio) and emp3 (Encrypted M-PEG Audio Level III) formats.
