Ready for School iPad use policy
Iowa Public Television has provided 3 iPad2s to the library for educational use and support for their Ready for School project.
~The iPads will have Ready for
School educational media resources downloaded on them.
~These resources are intended
for use by children 2 to 8 years of age and use of these iPads will be limited
to children who are 2 to 8 years of age or at the discretion of the librarian.
~iPads will be available for use
in the library only.
~Children using an iPad will
need to have a parent, guardian or caregiver 12 years of age or older present
with them in the library.
~Users must sign out the iPad
with the child’s name and name of responsible person present with the child.
~Time spent on the iPad is
limited to half hour sessions. However
if no one else is waiting to use it the time may be extended until another
patron requests to use it.
~Any damage caused by misuse or
improper handling and associated cost will be the responsibility of the child’s
parent or legal guardian.
~iPads should not be left
unattended in the library. The user is
responsible for the iPad signed out in their name.
~Tampering with content on the iPad is prohibited. Tampering includes, but is not limited to, adding to or deleting the contents, or modifications of any sort.
~Failure to follow these rules could cause a suspension of iPad privileges.
