Summer Reading Children's Program 2013
Kids who read succeed and children who read during June, July, and August maintain and often improve their reading skills over the summer.
Coming this summer, from June 3, 2013 – August 3, 2013, all OCPL branch locations will be participating in a drop-in summer reading program for kids up to age 12. All children are invited to read books for fun and attend entertaining and educational library programs. This program is presented in partnership with the Friends of the Library and the State Library of South Carolina.
For more information, call the Youth Services Department at (864) 638-4133 or stop into your neighborhood library today.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE (for children under 12):
- When you register you'll receive a bag with goodies (while supplies last) along with a reading record, a calendar of Summer Reading events, and a fun activity sheet.
- We'll be offering a variety of programs all summer so make sure to drop-in as often as possible.
- When you have read 25 hours return your reading record to any OCPL branch and receive a reading medal and certificate. Last day to receive a medal and certificate in August 3rd.
