Q: How can I get a library card?
A: Patrons must apply online and present a current Texas driver's license or identification (I.D.) card with their current address. Parents complete a separate application to obtain a youth or teen card.
Q: How many items can I check out?
A: Patrons can check out up to 15 items total: limit two DVDs, 15 books, and five audiobooks.
Q: When are the items due?
A: DVDs are due seven days after the check out date; all other items are due after two weeks.
Q: Can I renew items?
A: Yes, all items can be renewed except DVDs. DVDs cannot be renewed due to popular demand.
Q: How can I renew items?
A: Either come by the library with your card, renew online at www.palestine.lib.tx.us, or call us at (903) 729-4121. All items other than DVDs can be renewed for two weeks.
Q: Does the library charge late fees?
A: Yes. Late fees for books are 30 cents per day per item. Late fees for DVDs and audiobooks are $1.25 per item per day.
Q: Are computers with internet access available in the library?
A: Yes, we have many computers available for public use. Log on with your library card number. Computers are available for public use for one hour a day.
Q: Can I access the internet if I bring my laptop computer?
A: Yes. The Library offers free Wi-fi service inside the library and inside the Palestine Mall. Connect to "Lib-Open" in your laptop's Open Network and Sharing Center.
Q: Does the library check out eBooks and audiobooks?
