Legos in the Library!
Join us Tuesday, February 16th between 2:30pm and 6:30pm for our monthly Lego building event. This free-build activity is a great way for kids of all ages to exercise their imagination while having a ton of fun!
Book Movie Night
Please join us for Book Movie Night, February 18th, Thursday. We will be watching "The theory of everything." This is the extraordinary story of one of the world’s greatest living minds, the renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, who falls deeply in love with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde. Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering diagnosis at 21 years of age. With Jane fighting tirelessly by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of – time. Together, they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than they could ever have dreamed. Microsoft IT Academy
The Microsoft IT Academy offers a range of official Microsoft online courses and learning resources covering subjects from digital literacy (how to use a computer) to Microsoft Office business skills, advanced networking, and programming skills.
Are you new to computers? You can get started right away by clicking here where you’ll find basic classes on using a computer and the Internet and no signup is required.
A Microsoft ID. If you already have a Microsoft email account (Hotmail, MSN, Outlook), you can use that login information, otherwise:
Create a Microsoft Account:
1.Go to https://signup.live.com and click Sign up.
2.Complete the fields to create your live ID/Microsoft Account.
3.Go back to your email account and verify email.
Next you will need an Enrollment/Access Code. This requires you to visit Sedro-Woolley Public Library. Ask at the front desk, and when you have the enrollment code, proceed with the following steps:
Activate E-Learning Courses:
1.Go to learner site http://itacademy.microsoft.com/, and click Sign In.
2.Select how you want to sign in. In most cases, you will want to choose Microsoft Account. Enter your email and password when prompted.
3.Click the link to redeem your code.
4.Enter the code and your email.
5.Check the box to accept the User Agreement & click Continue.
6.Fill out the profile information, and click Save.
Finding and Accessing Courses
Use the Search box or Browse tab to find and add courses. Once you've added a course, you can access it by clicking on My Courses and then clicking the hyperlinked name of the course.
1.Go to learner site http://itacademy.microsoft.com/
2.Click the Sign In button on the right of the home page.
3.Enter with your Microsoft Account and password.
4.From My Courses, click the course you would like to start or resume.
You may use our Library computers or your own for IT Academy.
To access your library account :
1. Click on the "My account" button below.
2. Type your entire library card number without spaces into the ID box.
3. The last four digits of your library card number is your PIN.
