April 2014

A boy laments the many monsters everywhere he goes–his mom and dad can't see them, but he just knows they're there. They lurk nearby when he takes the trash out in the evening, on the other side of the curtain when he's taking a shower, and all over his room at night. (Thank goodness they're afraid of ladders and he sleeps on the top bunk.) When he sees a sign for karate classes, he decides it's time to learn some fancy moves and overcome his fears

2014 Books of the Month:

  • January - Moose on the Loose
  • February - Memoirs of a Goldfish
  • March - The Runaway Garden
  • April - There Are Monsters Everywhere

          Mango Languages

Surrey Township Public Library is proud to announce the addition of the Mango Languages online language-learning system to our available resources. Mango is free of charge to patrons, and offers a fun, fast and convenient solution to our community’s growing language learning needs. It’s the easiest way to learn to speak a foreign language!

Mango’s online language learning system focuses on teaching actual conversation skills for a wide variety of languages. Each lesson combines real-life situations and audio from native speakers with an easy-to-follow interface and simple, clear instructions. Because it's completely web based, library patrons can learn anywhere they have an internet connection — at the library, a coffee shop, or even at home in bed. It’s so effective and easy to use, you’ll be speaking a new language after just one lesson!

Mango Languages currently offers 6 language courses — Spanish, French, German, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, Greek
Mango Languages recently took second place in the Education category of the “Web 2.0 Awards” by SEOmoz and has been recommended by Education World for foreign language learning. Learn more about Mango Languages at www.mangolanguages.com or by clicking on the Mango Languages link at the bottom of the page.
