Tom Green County Library Volunteer Expectations
The Tom Green County Library welcomes and encourages members of the community to volunteer their time and talents to enrich and expand library services. Volunteers are expected to conform to all policies of the Tom Green County Library and the rules outlined in the Volunteer Handbook, and are selected and retained for as long as the library needs their services.
Volunteers will be used for special events, projects, and activities or on a regular basis to assist staff as needed. Volunteers must be able to effectively perform the tasks assigned and will go through and interview process to determine the best placement. Placement is not guaranteed and is based on the ability of the volunteer as well as the library’s needs at the time.
All volunteers of the Tom Green County Library will be representing Tom Green County and the Library and are expected to act and be treated as any employee would.
Volunteers are expected to:
Be punctual base on the schedule set up with their supervisor
Adhere to library dress code
Abide by all library and county rules and policies
Be courteous to fellow employees, volunteers and library patrons
Abide by the Tom Green County Volunteer Handbook
Abide by the Patron Confidentiality Policy.
Inform their supervisor in a timely manner if they choose to leave the volunteer services program.
