Library News

Fall in love with reading at the library! People of all ages can stop by to join in some fun! We are very excited that our programming has resumed and we have opportunities for all ages!
For the kids, we have already had fun at our first evening story hour of the season hosted by Worth County Farm Bureau! We hope you will be able to join us in October for our come and go Halloween party on Thursday October 28th from 4-7:00. Stop in for crafts and activities and please wear your costume! We will also be having a story time every Friday morning starting at 10:00 am until the week before Christmas, only skipping Thanksgiving day. This story time is best suited for kids 2-5, but all are welcome to attend! We mostly play, read a couple of books, and complete a simple craft. Any leftover crafts from story hour will be placed in our entryway for anyone to pick up and take home. We hope to see lots of littles in the library this fall!
For the adults, we have some exciting news! We have decided to start a monthly book club! We will meet the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm, and our first meeting will be Tuesday November 2nd at the library. We are still working out details, but we hope to plan out a schedule of books for the upcoming months and casually work through books. Our first book to be discussed on November 2nd will be “American Dirt” by Jeanine Cummins. If you would like to join our book club, please e-mail me at or call 324-1340 to request a copy of the book and to get all the details about our plans. We are also planning to have Joel Rohne and Sheriff Dan Fank to the library in mid-November to present information on phone scams and online scams. Check back next month or on Facebook for details as a set date and the specifics get worked out.
We will have monthly bookmark surveys available at the library for you to complete on how the library is meeting your needs! Please take the time to fill out this short survey and return it, so we can learn what areas we need to improve on. Each month a winner will be drawn out of the participants, and he/she will receive a local gift card!
Upcoming closure date: The library will be closed November 11th in observance of Veteran’s Day.
