Library News

The library is so excited to be back to our normal hours, and we’ve had a busy month. We’ve had both N-K 1st and 2nd grade classes come for field trips. The kids came to learn about the library, get library cards, listen to a book, and enjoy a little craft. We had so much fun and it was great to have so many kids in the library again!
We also have some exciting things to look forward to this summer! We will be at the fair in the community room for story time at 2:00 pm on Friday June 18th. Stop in for a couple stories, farm bingo, and a craft!
Then after the fair is finished, our summer reading program will officially start! Our kickoff day (sponsored by Worth Mutual & Olson Insurance) will be Tuesday June 22nd. Stop in any time that day to sign up, make some crafts, and have some ice cream!
We will be offering story times on Thursday mornings at 10:15 June 24th, July 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd. Story time is best for kids aged 3-8 but all are welcome to attend! Then on Tuesdays at 3:00 pm June 29th, July 6th, 13th, and 20th we will have a kids’ “activity hour.” We will do more advanced crafts and activities that is best for kids 8 and up. (Registration may be required for supply purposes.)
Many thanks to Northwood State Bank who is sponsoring the Blank Park Zoo for us on July 8th at 5:00 pm where they will teach us about “Colorful Creatures.”  Finally, thanks to Farmers State Bank, we will end our summer reading program at the end of July with a pool party at the Northwood swimming pool! Make sure to check our Facebook page and specifically ask to join our “Northwood Public Library SRP 2021” group page for more details! A summer calendar will be available shortly!
