Digital Bookplates

In a journal entry dated 1920, a year before The Phillips Collection opened to the public, Duncan Phillips recorded his vision for the museum, stating that it should be “a home for all the arts” and include “a comprehensive art library.”  Through the generosity of friends and donors, the library collection continues to grow, fulfilling his mission. Gifts to the library enable us to support all aspects of the museum’s activities as well as those of art historians and researchers around the world.

The digital bookplate program creates a permanent link in the online catalog for items received through donation by friends of the library. This allows us to publicly thank those who help build our unique and valuable collection of art resources. Information on becoming a supporter of the library is available here.
