Children's Programs
Please take note: The Library will be closed Saturday 5/11 and Tuesday 5/14. Then WOW! On Wednesday 5/15, you will see a whole new card catalog system, & you may see some differences in how books are checked out. There will be a learning curve for you and for us! Also, there will be no programs the last week of the month as we make final preparations for our Summer Reading program (June & July) and our kickoff event on Saturday June 1st.
LAPSIT – FOR KIDS UNDER 3 (Friday mornings at 10:30)
These are programs for infants and toddlers under age 3 and their caregivers. The program lasts around 30 minutes. It includes books/stories, lots of songs, nursery rhymes and fingerplays (older siblings are allowed to attend/participate when necessary).
May 3: Happy birthday stories, songs, and rhymes! : Plus stickers at the end.
May 10: Strawberry Stories – it’s festival week! : Songs, rhymes, and stickers.
May 17: Parades are fun! : Stories, songs, rhymes, and stickers.
May 24: A mish-mash of Ms. Linda’s favorites: Nursery rhymes, songs, and fun!
May 31: NO STORY TIME TODAY!: – But come in and pick up summer reading log pages.
Wednesday Mornings at 10:30am (for kids ages 3-5)
May 1: Celebrations: Birthdays, holidays, & festivals; plus songs, music, and a craft.
May 8: Strawberries! : It’s Strawberry Festival Time! Music, movement, and a coloring page.
May 15: Parades! : Stories about parades & we’ll parade around the library.
May 22: Ms. Linda's Choice! : Ms. Linda will share some of her favorite books. Music, movement, & a coloring page.
May 29: NO STORY TIME TODAY!: – But come in and pick up summer reading log pages.
Wednesday Afternoons at 3:30pm (for Kindergarten & older)
May 1: Celebrations from around the world: Madlibs & a game of 4 corners!
May 8: ALL AGES TODAY! : A special Strawberry Storytime with strawberry stories, games, a special guest, & refreshments!
May 15: Learn the history of a famous US parade: Madlibs and Hedbanz!
May 22: Ms. Linda’s Choice! : Maybe a story told instead of a story read. Then a storytelling type of game.
May 29: NO STORY TIME TODAY!: – But come in and pick up summer reading log pages.
Read to Roger, the therapy dog: May 1st

FAMILY EVENTS (ALL AGES)
Hooks & Needles Club (previously Crochet Club): May 4th, and 18th at 10:30am
All are welcome regardless of skill level. Ages 10 & up. Bring a hook & yarn!
Tea Time: May 18th 11:30-12:30
Gather for a relaxing time of conversation & tea

Teen Programs for middle & high schoolers (Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm)
May 2: Can You . . . ? - Are you up for some challenges? Can you work in a group or as 1 of a pair? Come on to PPL and find out!
May 09: Game Day - Video, board, card . . . choose which game and which friends you want to game with today!
May 16: Marsh-Mallow Poppers - Balloons and marshmallows are usually not enjoyed simultaneously, until now! The Mini-Marshmallow Popper is a great way to engage in an activity which brings together two delightful ingredients.
May 23: Graduation Party for Our Seniors - Let’s celebrate our high school graduates. We will send y’all off with a party you won’t forget!
Dungeons & Dragons: Friday April 19th 3:30-5:00 - Join us for our D&D group! Both teens and college ages are welcome. Adult staff members will be leading and monitoring the program.
Adult Programs
Bingo: Every Tuesday at 1:00 PM
Join in on the fun of friendly competition as Ms. Vicki calls out the numbers, and the race is on to yell out "BINGO." Prizes awarded to winners.
Veteran's Representative: Wednesday, May 1st from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in a study room
A rep from the Sumner County Veteran's Service Office will be available to help any vetran or veteran's spouse with questions or filling out forms. No appointment necessary. First come, first serve basis.
Genealogy Club: May 4th at 10am
Join us in the Library’s Community Room to hear one of our longtime genealogy club members, Kevin Ragland, share about his books.
Crafts! : Tuesday, May 21st at 2:30 PM
Let’s make a cute craft! All supplies provided. Sign up at the desk or by phone.
