May 2024 Northwood Public Library News

Happy May! The end of the school year is quickly approaching and after that… Summer Reading! We want to give a huge thank you to those businesses that have already donated money to support our upcoming Summer Reading Program: Agri-Sales, Dewey Kruger Music, FSB, Knudtson Automotive, Northwood Dental, NSB, and Shade Tree Liquors. You all are wonderful and we are so greatful! If you’re interested in helping to fund the library’s Summer Reading Program stop on in to see us, call us at 324-1340, or email me at emily@northwood.lib.ia.us.

We will continue to have Story Time on Friday mornings at 10:00. The dates for May are the 3rd, 10th, and 17th. Story Time is geared for toddler and preschool age, but babies are welcome too! It’s a fun time for kids to socialize together, learn about sitting quietly for a short story or two, have some fun coloring and playing with the library toys. Parents and caregivers can enjoy some chit chat too! Please pay attention to the library’s facebook page for more information.
The library has two different book clubs that participate in a monthly reading and discussion. If this is anything that sounds interesting to you, don’t hesitate to reach out at the library!

Coming to the library this month:
Adult Fiction books: “The 24th Hour” by James Patterson, “First Frost” by Craig Johnson, “Look On The Bright Side” by Kristen Higgins, “Mind Games” by Nora Roberts, “The Paradise Problem” by Christina Lauren, “One Perfect Couple” by Ruth Ware, “Red Sky Mourning” by Jack Carr, “Summers At The Saint” by Mary Kay Andrews and lots more.
Large Print Fiction: “Camino Ghosts” by John Grisham, “If The Boot Fits” by Kate Witemeyer, “Just For The Summer” by Melody Carlson, “Sandcastle Inn” by Irene Hannon, “Tourist Season” by Brenda Novak and more.

I’ve been posting some pictures of the new books to the Northwood Public Library’s Facebook page, so don’t forget to “Like” the page to be notified when we put more new books out throughout the month.
Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you might have via e-mail emily@northwood.lib.ia.us or call us at 324-1340. We hope you will check us out soon!
