Circulation & Borrowing Policies

Check out periods, renewals, overdue fines, damaged or lost material. In-Library use of material is open to all, but a current SEARK College ID, UAPB ID, or ARKLink card is required to borrow material for use out-side the library. Loans or check out periods vary according to type of material: Books and audiotapes 2 weeks. Videos and magazines or journals 1 week. Audio visual equipment 1 week by a College faculty or staff member. Material may be renewed for additional periods, so long as no other user has requested the item. Someone needing an item which is checked out may request and be placed on the item. Any item with a pending cannot be renewed. The library user is responsible for returning borrowed material in good condition on or before the due date. Overdue fines may be charged for material returned after the due date: $.05/per day for books, magazines or journals $.15/per day for videos The maximum fine per item is $2.00 per overdue period. The replacement cost, plus a $6 processing fee, will be charged for lost or damaged material. The replacement cost for material that is out of print or no longer available will be based on the purchase cost for the closest possible replacement.
