At the Circulation Desk you can check out books, check in books, check on your library account, apply for a library card, put a book on hold, have copies made, get IRS forms, up date your personal information, or even report a lost or stolen library card.
Check-Outs and Returns: An automated circulation system is used to check books in and out and to help the staff keep track of library items. The Robert J. Kleberg Public Library has a 14-day lending policy for most items. Items in great demand may have a 7-day loan period.
Renewals: Books may be renewed once for the same loan period. No online or telephone renewals will be accepted.
Extended Loans: You may extend an item's loan period up to four weeks upon request with the approval of the Library Director.
Fines: A fine is charged for each day a book is not returned by the due date. Click on Fines and Fees to see rate schedule. No book(s) will be loaned to any patron having a System Stop until patron account has been cleared.
Damaged Items: All injuries to books beyond reasonable wear including all losses shall be made good to the satisfaction of the librarian.
Borrower Responsibility: Each borrower is held responsible for all books charged on their library card and for all fines or penalty fees accruing on the same.
Library Card: Please bring your library card each time you visit the library as you will need it to check out books, sign up for a public Internet computer, use of library's A/V equipment or any services requirement a library card. NOTE: A LIBRARY CARD MUST BE PRESENTED EACH TIME LOANS ARE MADE. Any exceptions must be approved by the Library Director.
