Step into the Children's Department, and right away you are taken into a world where lions and tigers and bears (ohhh my...) line the book shelves, dinosaurs roam the tables, puzzles paint beautiful scenes, and a child can become anything they want to be in their favorite book. The magic and wonder of reading can enlighten and open a child's mind, and that's when Melissa Naranjo, the Children's Librarian, encourages a child the most. Serving as the resident know-all of children's authors, teen manga books and stories about pirates, Danielle strives to bring new and exciting things for children and parents alike to visit the library. Weekly events such as our Thursday Morning Storytimes are a mom-pleaser for the little ones, while such larger programs, like our Summer Activity Program draws large crowds of kids, teens, parents and volunteers. Ms. Melissa serves as the Coordinator for all events that are sponsored by the Children's Department, as well as the Library Tour Giver to groups of schools and the public who wish to see how the library operates. The Children's Department is always in need of volunteers for our Children's events, so stop by the Children's Information Desk today and sign-up to be a part of our next big event.
