Summer Reading for Children

   Children/Tween Summer Reading Program

Bingo Cards are due by Saturday August 3rd!

The Summer Reading Program at the St. Joseph Public Library is open to all children 1 year old to rising 3rd graders.

We have a tween program, for rising 4th – 6th graders. Click here to read about the Tween program.

How do I play?

Start by getting registered. You can pre-register online here, or you can register in person starting on June 12th. Then all you have to do is Start Reading! Your reading log is a BINGO card with 30 squares on it. You will get a prize each time you complete 5 squares. The books, magazines, audiobooks, etc. that you read have to come from ones you’ve checked out of our library. Be sure to turn your BINGO card in by August 5th at 5:00PM to be eligible for the grand prize drawing.

How do I get the prizes I've earned?

Once you have your BINGO card and you have checked off 5 squares, you’ve completed a session. Then you just have to stop in the Children’s Room and show a staff member your BINGO card. The staff member will stamp your card and you can choose your prize for that session. There are a total of 6 sessions that you can finish for the program.

What Events are you having?

The staff at the library has arranged for some fun and exciting events for you to enjoy this summer—and they’re FREE! They are listed on your BINGO card and posted throughout the library. Or sign up for our monthly email newsletter.

If you have any questions, please call the library at 983-7167 ext. 17.
Hope to see you there!
