Tween and Teen Programs

 

Tween/Teen Coding Club

Join us every Monday from 4:00pm to 5:00pm as we working on different coding software and challenges. We use a software called Feiro coding. It starts with the basics of coding and as students do more lessons, they can move up to more advanced software programs such as C++, Python, etc. Though the lessons are self-paced, there is a staff member on-site to offer help. This program is for those ages 10 to 17.

 

Tween/Teen Cooking Class *Signup required to attend*

On the first Tuesday of each month at 4:30pm we teach a cooking class for those ages 10 to 17. The class meets in the Community Room at City Hall where there is a full kitchen. Space is limited and so individuals must signup in advance. We provide all the cooking ingredients and cooking ware needed to cook the dish. Please call the library to find out the dish that is being cooked for the month. Also, if you have any food allergies, please let us know and we will tell you the list of ingredients to make sure your tween/teen can eat the dish being cooked for the month.

 

Teen/Tween Craft Night

At 4:30pm on the second Tuesday of each month we have a Tween/Teen Craft Night. The craft changes every month, so check out social media pages or call the library for craft info. We supply all the craft supplies. The crafts are suitable for those aged 10 to 17.

 

Tween/Teen Anime Art Club

Do you love anime? Do you love drawing? Then join us at 4:30pm on the third Tuesday of each month for our Tween/Teen Anime Art Club! We provide paper, drawing supplies and books for reference. If you want to bring your own art supplies, you are more than welcome to do so. All art levels are welcome! If you want to leave your artwork upon completion, we will put it on the art wall for you.

 

Tween/Teen Comic/Songwriting Night

On the fourth Tuesday of each month we have either a comic book writing or songwriting night. We rotate between the two different options, so check our social media page or the calendar on this website to see which night we are having. We provide paper and pencils for this event. It starts at 4:30pm and if a fun way to be creative with writing!

 

Tween/Teen Genealogy Class

Have you ever wanted to learn more about your ancestors and where you come from? Come to our Tween & Teen Genealogy Class! It's held of the 3rd Saturday every month at 1pm! Sign-up is required and all participants must have a parent/ guardian present throughout the entire class.

 

The Tween and Teen Advisory Group

The Tween and Teen Advisory Group (TAG) is for ages 10 to 17. We meet on the first Thursday of the month at 5:30pm and the third Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm. TAG discusses Tween/Teen program ideas, marketing and more. There are special prizes for the more meetings you attend. Come get involved, plan the programs you want to attend, socialize with friends and enjoy some fun along the way.

 

Teen YA Art Club

We meet the first Thursday of each month at 4:30pm. We do a different art type craft/project. The library supplies all the art supplies. You do not need to be an expert in any art field to join. Check out social media pages or the sliders/calendar on this website for information on the type of art craft. This club is for ages 13 to 17.

 

Teen YA Book Club

Join us on the last Thursday of each month at 5:30pm as we discuss the book we picked for our teen YA book club. Copies of the book will be available at the front desk for checkout to patrons with a library card. See our social media page or the slider on the main page of our website for the title of the book. We will have light refreshments at this event. Enjoy reading and we can't wait to talk about the book with you! This group is for ages 13 to 17.
