ADULT SERVICES: The Robert J. Kleberg Public Library has an extensive collection of materials in both print and digital format.  The library has an automated checkout system that coordinates all item borrowering services. The library staff at the [ Circulation Services Department ] are ready to assist users with all procedures related to checking out and returning library materials.  The library acquires many of the latest [ Best Sellers ], houses current general and reference materials, maintains a ditigal collection, and carries over 100 popular periodical titles for general circulation. The library's digital collection consists of audiobooks on CD, an assortment of educational movies on DVD format, including a digital collection of eBooks, eAudiobooks and videos that are accessable online through the library's [ Overdrive ] program. For items that are not part of the in-house collection, patrons can borrow books and materials from other Texas libraries through the library's  [ Inter-Library Loan ] program.  The staff at the [ Reference and Information Desk ] are ready to answer reference questions and provide patrons with all the necessary forms needed to borrow materials through  the Inter-library Loan.  Note: Their is a nominal postage fee to cover for shipping of item(s) to and from lending library.  In addition, patrons are advised to double-check the library's [ card catalog ] first before ordering any materials to make sure that the "item" being requested is not available.  The library also makes accessable FREE [ Public Internet ] and [ Wi-Fi Internet ] services, that includes wireless [ Web Printing ] for a nominal fee.  Available to registered patrons is an [ Adult Computer Lab ] for in-house use. The library's website under the "eLearning Ditigal Resources" menu tab several digital resources. An excellent research resource is  [ TexShare Databases. ] TexShare Databases contain several digital resources that provice a wealth of information and are available as full-text articles from journals, newspapers, magazines, and other sources. Another very useful and popular database available under the "eLearning" menu tab is [ Learning Express Library ] database. This database offers online guides that allow patrons to pratice on college entrance exams, high school equivalency tests, civil service exams, vocational related jobs, and much more.  For individuals who want to learn a foreign language, the library makes availabe under the "eLearning" menu tab the [ Mango Languages ]  database. This database contains approximately 63 foreign languages that patrons can easily use to practice and learn a new language. In addition, as part of patron services, the library is now offfering [ Notary Public Services ] for a [ nominal fee. ] Patrons are advised to call the library to confirm that a Notary Public is on duty. To learn about more about the library's Patron Services and Programs, visit or call the library during regular business hours.

JUVENILE and YOUTH SERVICES: The library's [ Children and Youth Services ] Department offers its young patrons an array materials and programs. The public library strives to enrich the lives of children and young adults by meeting their informational, recreational, and cultural needs. Children services are provided by a helpful and caring staff who pay attention to young patrons and support their creativity. The library promotes access to recreational and reference materials and provides free [ Children's Internet Access ] and a [ Children's Computer Lab ] that features a welcoming area. Our children's computers have many great games that kids and teens can play and enjoy. The [ Hot Titles ] page features many new books that have been recently added to the children and young adult collections. The "Teen" collection has recently been spruced-up and expanded with new materials. Come by and visit with our Children's Librarian and inquire on the latest additions of children and young adult titles to the print and digital collections.  If you enjoy being read to, check out the [ Playaway Audiobooks ] collection. For those tech savy, the library also has a digital collection of Kids and Teens eBooks, eAudiobooks and videos that are available through the library's [ Overdrive ] program.

PATRONS with DISABLILITIES: There is a handicap entrance and exit ramp on the east-side of the library located in the Courtyard area. Handicap toilet facilities are also available. In conjunction with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, the Robert J. Kleberg Public Library makes available the  [ Texas Talking Book Program ]  a service to Texans who are unable to read standard print material due to visual, physical, or reading disablilities - whether permanent or temporary - for FREE. The program lends books and magazines in digital cartridge, recorded cassettes, large print and Braille books. Thousands of titles are available in a wide variety of catergories, including classics, romances, science fiction, mysteries, westerns, children's selections, plus a special collection of books by Texas authors, books about Texas, and books in Spanish. The collection now includes over 80,000 titles and has reading materials for all ages from beginning readers to older adults. More than 70 different magazines such as Guideposts, Newsweek, Reader's Digest, and Texas Monthly are also available.  Eligible Texas residents can register for this FREE service.  For more information, please visit or call the library during regular business hours. 

NON-RESIDENT VISITORS:
The Robert J. Kleberg Public Library invites non-residents to visit the library Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For a nonimal fee, the library makes available several non-resident membership plans for frequent visitors who have personal research needs. Patrons who live outside Kleberg County are charged an annual non-resident fee of $8.00 per person. At the Circulation Services Desk, patrons call apply for Non-Resident Family Cards which are available for $30.00 annually to a qualifying family of four (4).  Library cards are issued individually to each family member. Families with five (5) or more members are charged the base fee of $30.00 for first four library cards, $5.00 per additional card thereafter. The Library offers visitors on-shelf collections for browsing, reading, and for a nominal fee, photocopying services. Vistors are welcome to visit the library and browse the collections during regular business hours. Free [ Wi-Fi Internet Access ] is available from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. 7 days a week to all users that have their own personal Wi-Fi Ready device.
