ADULT SERVICES: The Library maintains an up-to-date collection of adult [ Best Sellers ] and reference materials. In addition, the library has a circulating collection of audio books on compact discs, DVD's and VHS movies. The library also provides its patrons with free [ Internet ] and [ Wi-Fi Internet ] services including [ Wi-Fi Web Printing ] access. An adult [ computer lab ] with printing access is available in-house. The library's website features a [ Resume Maker ] program useful for creating professional-looking resumes. The website also features the [ Learning Express Library ] program that offers patrons access to online study guides and practice tests for various vocational and school entrance examinations. An extensive collection of research information is made available on our [ Ready Reference ] page, and also through [ Discovery Texas ] TexShare databases. For items that are not part of the collection, the Reference Librarian at the [ Information Desk ] can assist patrons in ordering books through the library's [ Inter-library Loan ] program.
PATRONS with DISABLILITIES: There is a handicap entrance and exit ramp on the east-side of the library located in the Courtyard area. Handicap toilet facilities are also available. The [ Texas Talking Book ] program, a service to Texans who are unable to read standard print material due to visual, physical, or reading disablilities - whether permanent or temporary - is available for free. The program loans books and magazines in recorded cassettes, large print and Braille books. Thousands of titles are available in a wide variety of catergories, including classics, romances, science fiction, mysteries, westerns, children's selections, plus a special collection of books by Texas authors, books about Texas, and books in Spanish. The collection now includes over 80,000 titles and has reading materials for all ages from beginning readers to older adults. More than 70 different magazines such as Guideposts, Newsweek, Reader's Digest, and Texas Monthly are also available.
JUVENILE and YOUTH SERVICES: The Library also offers an array of [ children and youth services ] to its young patrons. The Library strives to enrich the lives of children and young adults by meeting their informational, recreational, and cultural needs. Library services are provided by a helpful and caring staff who pay attention to young patrons and support their creativity. The Library promotes access to recreational and reference materials and provides free [ Children's Internet Access ] and a [ computer lab ] that features a welcoming area. Our children's computers have many great games that kids and teens can play and enjoy. The [ Kid's & Teens Best Sellers ] page features many new books that have been added to the children, teen, and young adult collections. The "Teens" section has recently been spruced-up and expanded. Come by and visit with our Children's Librarian and ask where the new books and [ Playaway ] audiobooks are!
